Hi South Florida birders: In a direct connection between South Florida, where I spent the winter in Key Largo, and the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, which is my permanent home, the Big Year film is being filmed here in British Columbia. Don't know why, really, except usually it's a matter of cost when they film a movie that takes place in the U.S., in Canada. I think my area is supposed to be a substitute for Arizona.
The other day, a friend of mine, who is doing a B.C. big year was showing a crew member a Long-billed Curlew, and, who knows, that footage may show up in the film. Small world. Thor
