Yesterday and this morning I ventured out to look for visible planets just before sunrise. I was totally stoked to find that you can see Saturn's rings through a spotting scope! And Jupiter's moons all lined up in orbit! At 6am, Jupiter is low in the eastern sky. Saturn is almost directly overhead (making it interesting for maneuvering your scope into position...I used all variations of leg length and angle on my tripod to get it straight...).
