At Indian Key, August 6, 1857 (as stated in "Florida Bird Life"). Other accounts tell of residents in the Keys seeing flocks of Flamingoes flying in from offshore and landing on the flats to feed, apparently coming from the Bahamas. Way cool. Would be nice to go back to those times, with my Nikon D3000 and 300mm lens of course.
