Needham's Skimmer

Here (see link below) is a photograph of a female Needham's Skimmer from the TAS Big Cypress Birdwalk last Saturday. Notice how it is holding its forelegs raised and folded behind its eyes. This allows a faster takeoff, with only four points of contact on the perch.
