Actually, there are a couple of "possible" nesting pairs at Fort De Soto, but they remain well-hidden at North Beach within the roped-off area. The only other option would be Honeymoon Island State Park at the far north end of the North Spit - a two mile walk from the northern end of the main Gulf-side parking lot. The winter season is a much easier time of year to find them in Pinellas when several are present, wintering.
