Just my opinion, but I think that the Yankee Freedom is a much better choice for birders that are traveling to Fort Jefferson.
The Y.F. crew are very amenable to stopping at Hospital Key, or which ever sand spit the Boobies are on,on the return trip and the layout of the open decks allow for easy access to bird and seawatching throughout the trip.
The Fast Cat has only a small stern area that is open and seems to be heavily used by the smokers.
BTW this is not an advertisement- I just think that they do a good job ;-)
