I have read that young males ( songbirds, that is) practice their singing. It's such a pleasant little song. Sounds a little bit like a canary.
I honestly thought it was a house finch at first, but then confirmed the song on the internet.
This means the birds are probably quite happy hanging out and getting fat at my feeders for the long flight ahead!
