Rock Jetty, Tito Luciani, and I arranged to get off work a couple hours early and zipped down to Flamingo. We arrived around 4:30PM...only to hear the story of the peregrine and the flushed birds. We looked up and down that coast, but could not relocated the Bar-tailed Godwit. Rock is now 0-2, and I am quite certain he has a new nemesis bird!
We did head out on the Coastal Prairie trail and managed a nice male Hooded Warbler. There were lots of Indigo Buntings in the C loop of the campground as well. Unfortunately we also failed to hear a Black Rail north of the C campground loop after sunset.
We'll get our birds next time!
