Warblers galore this morning at Green Cay. Pine/palm/black and white / and also some blackpolls. Most of the warblers were in the parking lot but the first cypress head east also had a fine display (25-40) as well as many swallows mainly rough-legged. The martins are mud and stick gathering.
Also present were several blue-headed vireo and two were singing up a storm. A cute little melody.
The flickers have been dumped from the three-stump by those rascally starlings. That's the bad news. The good news is they moved to a new site that couldn't be more accomodating to photographers if they were paid a stipend. So it worked out well. Many people (mostly tourists) a few professional photogs and several Audubon types watched the show as pop excavated a new hole in a Royal Palm. Hopefully this nest location will not be abandoned because of the crowds. Courtesy and quiet should help out.
Stilts also present. High winds, overcast and rain threat cut my visit short. Summary...the warblers are moving north.
