Howdy folks,

The Toe-meister and I birded the C-357 impoundments this AM from 0715 to approximately 0930 hours. About 5-6 Clay-colored Sparrows were seen and 4-5 White-crowned Sparrows in the usual area along the berm (the birds were moving quickly, in and out of the brush pile, so it was hard to get a solid count). Many Savannah and about a half-dozen Grasshopper Sparrows were thrown in the mix along with 2-3 Eastern Towhees. One Lincoln's Sparrow was spotted by Toe and missed by yours truly (of course). I did find a really nice-looking immature male Blue Grosbeak for a year bird consolation prize.

No sign of the Dickcissel, Song Sparrow, or Chipping Sparrow that Bill Boeringer told Toe he saw yesterday (no TAS post Bill?). Bill saw the Song Sparrow not far from where Brian Rapoza first reported it this winter - near the S-359 spillway (according to Toe). The "C-357 Sparrow Fields" deliver once more!
