Another great warbler seen yesterday in Morningside Park. It was in an area where I frequently see Ovenbird and other secretive ground-dwelling species. I watched it for a few minutes as it hopped along the ground, over-turning leaf-litter and stabbing at insects on the ground. This bird was tough to get close to as any sudden movement or sound would startle it and it would fly into a different shaded area. Eventually I got great 15 foot views of it. Other birds of note were Merlin, my Florida Eastern-Wood Pewee, more Warblers species including 2 Yellow-throated Warblers, Red-eyed Vireo, and Swainson's Thrush.
Today seen were Spot-breasted Oriole, Hill Myna- 10, Belted Kingfisher, Cooper's Hawk, Worm-eating Warbler, Ovenbird, and 2 Yellow-throated Warblers, 2 Black-and-white Warblers, aswell as some other warbler species.
Hopefully a Tennessee Warbler will show up for me in Morningside this weekend.
