I'll get to the point: Barnes rocked this morning! Thinking we were going to witness a "vacuum effect" (nice term David), where all the birds would've left last night and we'd be staring at nothing but leaves, we were instead rewarded with ecstasy...no, not the drug but certainly the feeling. We were also blessed by the presence of the legendary Paul Bithorn who also happened to be birding the area. Here's a list of the notable species:

Red-eyed Vireo (many)
Yellow-throated Vireo (2)
Swainson's Thrush (many)
Gray-cheeked Thrush (1)
Veery (2)
Baltimore Oriole (1)
Spot-breasted Oriole (2)
Summer Tanager (at least 2)
Scarlet Tanager (1)
Downy Woodpecker (1)
Gray Catbird (1) FOS
Cooper's Hawk (1)
Acadian Flycatcher (1)
Traill's Flycatcher (1)
Blue-gray gnatcatcher (many)
American Redstart (6)
Common Yellowthroat (3)
Ovenbird (many)
Northern Parula (6)
Prairie Warbler (6)
Black-and-white Warbler (1)
Yellow-throated Warbler (2)
Tennessee Warbler (7)
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER (1)
Worm-eating Warbler (4)
WILSON'S WARBLER (2)
MAGNOLIA WARBLER (3)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (10)
Pine Warbler (1)
Palm Warbler (1)

In addition, Paul Bithorn spotted several BLACKBURNIAN WARBLERS by the Australian pines along the canal. Pretty impressive, huh Brennan?

Cheers,
