Predawn recon failed to turn up any rails or unusual species. Daylight started slowly, but gave Trey and I a chance to chat. Unfortunately, Trey left just as things got better. A large flock of Long-billed Dowitchers came in, with several Least Sandpipers, Lesser Yellowlegs, and a single Stilt Sandpiper on the fringe. Meanwhile, a Bronzed Cowbird popped up in the bushes across the street among all the Red-winged Blackbirds. While scanning the skies, I got a far-off look of a flock of 4 Black-bellied Whistling Ducks flying west, beyond the apt complex. Also in the area were the usual species, including Shoveler, Mottled Duck, Greater Yellowlegs, Red-shouldered Hawk, Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Glossy Ibis, Wood Stork, White Pelican, and Green- and Blue-winged Teal.

Checking the southeast corner before I left, I found 7-8 Savannah Sparrows, and pished up a bunch of warblers, including Palm, Prairie, Common Yellowthroat and an Orange-crowned Warbler, a first for me at Cutler Wetlands.
