The Wilsons Snipe (formerly Common Snipe) at Green Cay have persisted. This afternoon (3/10/2010) two were just off the boardwalk at the north side of the trail, and two more were at the water's edge on the Cypress Hammock. All four stayed in place for extended periods.

Incidentally, why upgrade; if other name changes are any indication, they may once again become Common Snipe at some time in the future! And, if not, take a pen, cross out "Common" and write in "Wilsons". (Actually, a good reason to buy a new guide is for updated range maps; but check the maps, not just some name changes, have been updated to reflect more recent data.)
