Hi Ana,
As Colin noted on your blog, the bird is a Red-shouldered Hawk; the checkered pattern on the wings (particularly noticeable in your 2nd and 4th photos) is always a good field mark. Your bird is a really pale individual that seems to be molting out of juvenal plumage but hasn't yet acquired adult plumage.
