I birded the edge of the field across 9336 from Lucky Hammock today. Park by the canal across from the small park that borders ENP and walk along the edge of the field and the wooded stand of brush and trees to the east of the canal. I believe this is the area described by Bryant Roberts earlier in the year. The winds were up and there was an incredible array of raptors. Here are some birds of note:

Swallow-tailed Kite (2)
Swainson's Hawk (1)
Short-tailed Hawk (2)
Merlin (1)
"Krider's" Red-tailed Hawk (1, this is a really cool bird that really sticks out. It would be cool if someone could get a photo)
Louisiana Waterthrush (1, probably the biggest surprise, could this be a migrant this early? the habitat didn't look like a place where it would spend the winter.)
N. Waterthrush (1)
Grasshopper Sparrow (4)
Swamp Sparrow (1)
Painted Bunting (12, I think these birds are moving through right now as I am seeing them in numbers everywhere)

-missed the Lincoln's Sparrows that Carlos Sanchez and I had last time we were here, but it was really windy out there.
