Yesterday, while birding Castellow Hammock, I located the RUFOUS/ALLEN'S HUMMINGBIRD (female) and a SHINY COWBIRD. The latter was among a large flock of Red-winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles. These guys were feeding and perching and doing all those things icterids do. Long and excellent looks at the fella until a raptor (possibly a Cooper's Hawk) flew by low and close and flushed everybody to Hades.
