Gary and I saw the Harlequin duck around 4 p.m. today at Sebastian Inlet State Park. The duck was fairly close to the south side of the inlet by the first parking area after turning left at the entrance gate.
I am amazed we were able to see it! The inlet was quite a bit bigger than I had imagined. But we went ahead and parked in the first parking area and looked around - no duck! Then as we were getting back into our car to go park in the second area, I saw a dark, smallish duck floating in the water almost straight out from where we were parked - and there it was! Amazing! We had great looks at it as it would dive and then float a few seconds and dive again.
