My wife Pam & I searched Long Pine Key from 7:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. in search of the Black-faced Grassquit, the other object of my affection. After 64 hours and counting, searching for this Bahamian vagrant, she was now able to feel my pain first hand on my 12th attempt.

Most of the migrants had cleared out and we just missed seeing the Olive-sided Flycatcher that Larry Manfredi relocated. Steve “Flock of Siegels” has promised to post a video grab of this rare neotropic migrant with the Bacchanalian bird call, “quick-three-beers.”

Richard Miller from Clearwater, and a legion of Attuvian veterans, John Honeycutt from Iowa, Ellie Elder from Aurora, Ohio, Jay Lehman from Cincinnati, Ohio and Greg Bretz from Altamonte Springs, Florida continued the search.

Life is good.........I can’t wait to get back to work so I can get some rest.
