Yesterday morning (9/27/2003) I was walking up SW55th
Ave to put in a couple of hours at the TAS Native Plant Sale. Just past SW76th Street I heard the distinctive squawk of a BYM. I located 5 in a tall tree just west of SW55th Ave. I watched them for about 5 minutes as they interacted with each other. Later they made a fly-over of the Plant Sale giving everyone a thrill.
The only other bird of note was a sharp-shinned hawk
over the intersection of Red and Sunset.

P.S. Scarcely a day goes by that I do not hear BYMs in the neighborhood.
