I hiked out to Mt. Everglades this morning (dirt rd. before Research rd., to gate #5?) and scoped out the lakes to the SW and NE of the hill. Not much there, but in the SW lake, did observe about 10 Pied-billed Grebes and about 4-5 Ringed-necked Ducks. 2 Mottled Ducks were also seen there. In the NE lake, a group of 12 immature Hooded Mergansers were diving and feeding there. Not much else, but did see N. Harriers, Osprey, Belted Kingfisher, E. Meadowlark, Glossy Ibis, Tricolored Herons, Great Blue Heron, and Mockingbirds on the walk to and from the hill.
