Saturday my wife and I birded Tall cyoress Natural area and saw the following: 1 worm eating warbler, 3 blue grey Gnatcatchers, 23 american redstarts, many black throated blue warblers (male and female), 1 prairie warbler, 1 eastern wood pewee, 5 grey kingbirds and one cuckoo. When we got home and listened to the songs of the different cuckoo's, we found this one to be that of the mangrove cuckoo with out a doubt. The view did not permit a look at the underside of the tail but the song was that of a mangrove. We had seen and heard a mangrove before in the keys and this was the same call. We heard another nearby but didn't see it.
