I spent a few hours Friday morning at the Shark Valley Visitor Center in ENP, walking the first mile or so before turning back towards the entrance. I had 44 species, including the following highlights:
Roseate Spoonbill: 2 very pale birds
Sharp-shinned Hawk: 1 erupted out of the brush near the Bobcat Trail
King Rail: 2 birds, including one all-black chick, in a clump of cattails right off the parking lot
Purple Gallinule: 7
Limpkin: 2 birds near the head of the main trail
Greater Yellowlegs: 2, circling over the sawgrass prairie. Looked a bit lost.
American Robin: small flocks flying south
7 warbler species: Orange-crowned (2), Yellow-rumped, Prairie, Palm, Black-and-white, Northern Parula, and Common Yellowthroat
Swamp Sparrow: 2 birds heard then pished out at separate spots
