The La Sagra's Flycatcher continues in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP. Whiie doing my winter survey, I encountered a visting birding couple north along the Nature Trail. Since it was 9 AM, I suggested that they hang around the white gate area. By 9:15 they had great looks at the bird perched on the wire and around the fire break. At 9:30 I saw and heard it in the Green Buttonwoods on the SE side of Pond 3, just south of the fire break. Pete Miller had the bird earlier, north of the white gate, but got better looks when it moved to the fire break area.

The orange cones are a reminder to birders to stay west of the residence area.

There were subtle indications of spring migration, with influx of Prairie, Black-and-white, Yellow-rumped and Western Palm Warblers, Northern Waterthrush, Northern Parulas and Common Yellowthroats. Right on time, Key Biscayne mockingbirds are imitating Gray Kingbirds.
