Hello Arie:
If you want local birders to send you updates, you'll need to include your email address.
I created a Rare Bird Update page just for out-of-town birders (though locals can look at it as well); it's posted at the top of the Bird Board. It provides the last date that rare birds have been reported in south Florida and directions on how to get there. I'll update the page on a weekly basis.
The Red-footed Booby was last reported on 1/30. Updated reports would be greatly appreciated.
At 7:30 this morning, I saw a single Smooth-billed Ani in the field on the south side of the 800 building on Old Griffin Road; see the update for directions.
For out-of-area rarities such as the Masked Duck, see the Florida RBA at http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/FLRB.html
For other south Florida specialties, see http://www.tropicalaudubon.org/specialty.html; for directions, see http://www.tropicalaudubon.org/locations.html
Hope that helps,
Brian Rapoza
