A gathering of Purple Martins took place at Dadeland Shopping Center beginning shortly past 8 P.M. For the next 45 minutes approximately 3,000 Martins began flying into two trees. The location was directly in line with Cheesecake Factory -- midway between the restaurant and Kendall Drive (S.W. 88th Street) on the south side of the mall. It was quite an amazing spectacle as the sky was filled with birds arriving from every direction. I strongly recommend remaining in your vehicle while viewing the show! Enjoy it...
