Took the trip to Dry Tortugas today. The Sooty's returned yesterday and were in force today along with plenty of Brown Noddys. We also saw both Brown and Masked Boobies. I also saw a Short-tailed Hawk on Monday at Ft Zachary.
Last Wednesday and Thursday in Miami I did get to see The Red-footed Booby, Monk Parakeet, and Hill Mynas and Red Whishkered Bulbul. We looked for but missed the Spot-breasted Oriel and White winged Parakeet and waited in vain at Baptist Hospital for any Psittacids at Dusk. Maybe they didn't want to show for a Catholic Monk. We did have great looks at theSnail Kites on the Tamiami trail at the usual place by the abandoned air boat place. We also spent a couple of fruitless hours Thursday afternoon with two very reputable birders looking for the LaSagra's. I might try for it again on the way home early Saturday morning. Does anyone now a place on the way back from Key West to look for a White-crowned pigeon?
I also had an Orange Crowned, Worm-Eating and Parula Warbler at McCoy Indeginous Park here in Key West yesterday.
Hope this will be helpful to someone. Blessings, FM
