Lucky Hammock, the Annex, and Royal Palm Visitor Center each showed signs of significant migration this morning. The Migration Gumbo recipe follows:

Fill the pot with about 100 Ovenbirds
Toss in a couple dozen Am. Redstarts and Black-throated Blues (1:4 M:F); A pair each of Prairie, Palm, Parula, Black-and-White, Yellow-throated, and Northern Waterthrush, add two Baltimore Orioles and a Veery. Then sprinkly liberally with Eastern Kingbirds and Bobolinks. If you're not using okra for thickening, add equal parts Pectoral Sandpiper and Lesser Yellowlegs (Greater were not available at the time of this posting). Serve over hot white rice...mmm mmm good!

get out there, there's gumbo to be had.

Bon Birding

David
