Tigertail at this time of the year routinely has several 100+ shorebirds, a good variety of herons and good numbers of gulls and terns. There is usually a Peregrine Falcon wintering here and Merlin is possible. It is reliable for Snowy, Piping, and Wilson's Plover;Red Knot's, Reddish Egret, Marbled Godwit. Oystercatcher is possible. There are Skimmers, Forster's and Sandwich Terns, in the area. The remote North outer beach often has the unusual visitors to the area, and has produced Avocet, Jaeger sp.(on the beach!), White Pelican, Lessor Black-backed Gull, and Great White Heron in recent years. The Snowy Plovers are most reliable in this area.
