Last weekend Wendy and I went kayaking up Snake Bight and were rewarded with plenty of shorebirds. We went up the west shore and saw many shorebirds along the exposed mudflats on the falling tides. There were many Willets, Marbled Godwits, Short-billed Dowitchers, Western Sandpipers, some Black-bellied Plovers, Least Sandpipers, maybe some Dunlins, and Lesser Yellowlegs. We even saw a Ruddy Turnstone in the horde and a Spotted Sandpiper working the mangroves. Other birds included was a beautiful formation of American White Pelicans, Reddish Egrets, Roseate Spoonbills, and Yellow-crowned Night Herons wading on the flats. For more pictures, go to my facebook, the name "Birdman" and look for the guy in the yellow kayak.
