On Wed. at the intersection of SR 84 and University in Davie (Costco parking lot) I had an apparent Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk. Only about 200' overhead in great light. A typical Red-tail shaped bird, black plumage; a LIGHT GRAY/WHITE tail with one broad subterminal band, widest in the middle and fading out toward the outer edges. No other banding on tail visable from beneath. I've seen a few of these in the west, there is at least one photo. from FL.
