Yes, you probably have a wintering hummingbird in your neighborhood. We lived in Coral Gables for many years and always had at least 2 hummers each winter. I had to keep 2 feeders at opposite ends of the yard. My neighbor had many hibiscus and Hong Kong Orchid (or like variety), so I always heard 3-4 hummers at any given time. They seemed to show up by Nov. 7 and leave by April 4. If you put out a feeder, be prepared to change the sugar water often (1 part sugar:4 parts water.) Good luck!
