Hello. The Ivory Gull was present this morning at West Point Lake, GA. I initially observed the bird in the middle of the lake at first light (@ 400 meters out from the dam boom ); it was not associating with any of the other gulls. At approximately 0800 the bird flew to the Alabama side of the lake and landed on a small rocky bar below the face of the dam. Soon, myself and a small group of birders were enjoying excellent views of the bird with scopes from the top of the dam. The top of the dam provides a nice vantage of the locations where the Ivory Gull is being seen. There are parking areas on the GA & Al sides - please do not park on the dam I was told the locals are getting upset by birders doing this. What a GREAT bird!!! Well worth the drive from SW FL. John
