Thanks for relaying my blog post.
It has now been over a week since this the original claim and still no photos.
I have heard that someone dug up some info on Joe Hepprle and found that he had a brother or some relative name Dan Hepprle. This is undoubtedly the "Daniel Rainsong" described in the article.
The current assumption is that this is a fake and there are no photos and no bird.
My guess is that Joe Hepprle just wanted more hits to his website and/or to make his name known. He's done both, but it has cost him any credibility he might have had in the birding world.
