Green Cay rocks! About 25 BB whistlers dabbled around the far north walkway this early morning. Coots, moorhens, and gallinules about in large numbers. Several wedges of blue-winged teal arrived adding to the cacaphony of the "marsh". A northern harrier cruised back and forth several times over the east retention pond areas giving the coots fits. Green herons and GBlues were commong as were warblers of the palm, prairie, and parula type. Also several black and whites worked the cypress on the west side boardwalk area.

Very large flocks of tree swallows settled in the cypress hammock for a rest then broke cover and headed north dipping the water courses as they traveled.

More purple martins are at the nesting site but still no mating or house keeping.

Mottled ducks are everywhere. A beautiful day, great temperature, and very few joggers and power walkers. Just plain nice. This is not only a good birders site but a great photographers location. The water plants are beautifully trimmed, look natural, and provide many good set-ups for pictures.
