The La Sagra's Flycatcher was again very accommodating this morning in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP. It was heard and seen very well at 9:10 AM, fairly close to its original location and near the 1-15-10 pin on my Google Earth map (see below). Although it was ~30-40 ft. east of the white gate, park staff is aware that birders may need to go slightly inside the restricted area in order to get a good view. Earlier in the morning it was heard north of the gate, along the dirt Nature Trail. In addition to Tom Smith, visiting birders from CA (Alan and Anna) and CT (Bruce) got great looks.

I've observed the bird at various times of the day and wonder if it's establishing a pattern. It seems to call more and be near the intersect of the Nature Trail and the "bathroom" road earlier in the morning. At mid-morning it seems to wander south along the trail, calling less frequently. The farthest south I've seen it was at 12:45 PM. Or, perhaps there's no pattern, just random sightings.

Surely, my "digibinned" photo wins first prize for WORST photo of this bird! However, it shows the long bill and pale underparts.

Thanks to Park Manager Robert Yero for his understanding and encouragement.
