I went to look for the Western Tanager at FIU this morning early at 7:30am. I Walked around and checked the area where the bird has been seen near the yellow gate without having any luck.
At around 9:00 while birding the area inside the hammock Bonnie and Audrey spotted the Tanager feeding in the tall fig tree near the center of hammock. It gave us great looks and a few good photos. Several other folks showed up and we were able to put them on the bird.
