One of the places we went on this trip was Hampton Pines park. Went back this morning for 1 1/2 hours and it was loaded with birds. The main part of the park has a paved walking/biking trail around a small lake. This goes through lots of good habitat, and I heard many warblers while walking around, but did not see much. The eastern part of the park has nature trails through a wooded area, and this was great for seeing birds. Pine, palm, yellow-rumped, northern parula, black-and-white warbler (1), eastern phoebe (1), red-bellied woodpecker (we saw a downy on Saturday), 15-20 blue-grey gnatcatchers, many unidentified warblers. I saw 20-25 warblers, and heard many more.
The park is on McNab Rd., bordered by SW 81st Ave. on the west and Avon Lane on the east; use either of these to drive around to the entrance, off Hampton Blvd., on the north side.
Thanks John!!! What a relief after the desert Woodmont has been lately.
