Wil and Jody Domke found a wild Common Eider in the area of Pelican Harbor near the rehab center where the Red-footed Booby has been hanging out. They first found it just north of the rehab center. It later moved west just off the shore due north of the building under construction. As I left, it flew west to the western shore near a canal mouth. Trey just called (5:00) and he saw it in that area.

Directions: Take the 79St. causeway east, cross over the bridge over the intracoastal and turn left at the next light into Pelican Harbor. The construction will be directly in front of you as you drive in. Park in the available spaces and walk behind the building. There will be a funky awning thing held up by 4 blue poles. The eider was just off the shoreline in this area when I arrived, but it swam west behind the docks before swimming back. Check all the water in this area as it moves around a lot. The Red-footed Booby was perched on top of the cages at the rehab center. Keep a look out for a cormorant seen by Trey and Steve which they say was ~25% smaller than the Double-cresteds (hum???).
