Gary and I decided to chase Life Birds today!! And how awesome to get all three of our target birds!!

We were with Bill Boeringer, Roxanne Featherly and Joe & Helen Barros when the Western Tanager was seen this morning around 8:30 A.M. inside the FIU preserve near the organic garden area. It flitted right over to where we all were standing and we had wonderful looks at it.

Next, Gary, Roxanne and myself went to see the Red-footed Booby at the Pelican Harbor Bird Center and there it was as reported before, sitting on top of the cages around 9:30 A.M. What a sweet bird to see. They also have, in one of the enclosures for treatment, a Masked Booby - another beautiful bird!

Hoping for a third Life Bird for the day, Gary and I went to the Target at University and Stirling, and there in the retention pond behind the store was the Canvasback Duck still hanging around. There is still a small amount of Ring-necked Ducks, male and female, in the pond.

We celebrated a very successful day of birding with ice-cold Jamoca Swirl Shakes from Arby's!!!
