I spent several mornings this week at the Refuge. This morning was the birdiest. Black hooded parakeets, wood storks and juv. snail kite just outside the entrance. Cypress swamp had a yb sapsucker as well as the usual suspects. Pileated woodpeckers are working on a nest in the bus parking lot. Brazillian pepper in the farm fields near the Marsh Trail were also quite active. MOSQUITOS were bad in the Swamp!!!
