The beautiful male WESTERN TANAGER found yesterday by Angel and Mariel was still present at 8:00 AM this morning at the west side of the FIU Preserve, right across from the organic garden (look for the swing). It associated with a good-sized mixed flock which included BLUE-HEADED VIREO, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, and BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER. Several PAINTED BUNTINGS and PALM WARBLERS were also in the vicinity (look for the Burma Reed). A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER foraged in the palms nearby.
