I live in the Westchester area of west Miami Dade and have noticed a brown colored hawk hanging around my neighborhood this winter. I saw one a couple weeks ago perched on a telephone pole in front of my house, observing 2 of the feral roosters that live around here. It flew off before I could get a better look, so I have no idea what type of hawk it is. A couple years ago i also saw one chase a hen into a tree. Are they big enough to carry off a full grown rooster/hen?(these chickens get pretty big!)
