The Chapel Trail locally breeding pair of sandhill cranes and their now fully, or nearly fully grown juvenile were feeding behind the fence at the entrance to the Natural Area Wetlands on Sheridan and 196th Ave yesterday.

Also saw a pair of greater yellowlegs down the road a bit toward US 27.

This morning a mourning dove was aggressively chasing away whitewing doves, another mourning dove, common grackles, redwing blackbirds, and even a blue jay and boat-tailed grackle from what appeared to be a spot of gravel.
