Red-footed booby alive, well, chilly, and waiting to be fed at the Pelican Hospital on the 79th st Causway. Staff was courteous, cheerful, and prompted us to not walk on the docks. The bird was atop the cages, poorly lit and in a narrow confine. But we take our opportunities as we find them. A 200mm zoom lens with strobe light did the trick. High bright cirrus clouds in back of the birds head made for problems on exposure metering
We decided that rather than drink a libation for this momentous event we would offer a greatful grant to the staff---which we did. they assured us that they would feed the "critters" for quite a while with our donation.
A stop at Griffin road site by Lauderdale Airport produced no ani and many suspicious stares.
