With the scarcity of CBC participants, I started the morning in the Black Point group area, doing predawn and dawn at Cutler Wetlands. I arrived at 0530 but things were generally quiet until about 0615 as birds began chattering until about 0635, when it went almost silent until dawn.

In the early light, there were 10 Spoonbills and plenty of huddled Wood Storks. As light improved, I scoped a large group of ducks, mostly Coots, Mottled Ducks and Blue-winged Teal. I did find a couple of Green-winged Teal, then 5 Wigeon and 4 Shovelers; however the flock exploded out of the marsh before I could search the whole flock when an immature Bald Eagle decided to glide over and land on a palm tree right next to the flock!

Several large flocks of icterids went by towards the west, including a huge flock of Red-winged Blackbirds

A Black-necked Stilt was a treat, as was a Bronzed Cowbird atop a concrete pole amongst a number of Brown-headed Cowbirds. I left about 0715 with the following list:
