Spent an hour and a half watching the seas from the state park in Dania Beach, Broward. Steady streams of Northern Gannets of all ages were heading south, most very close to shore. A first winter Great Black-backed Gull and first winter Lesser Black-backed Gull cruised out of the port and out to sea. Several fihing boats offshore had plenty of activity around them. Most birds looked like young Herring Gulls, but I was not able to pick out any jaegers.
No loons, grebes, or ducks either. The Great Cormorant was not present at the channel marker just along the port entrance/exit, either. I am not sure if has even been reported or seen this season.
Happy holidays everybody.
Alex
