Kendale Lakes Park on 7850 Southwest 142nd Avenue was pretty productive today, with the biggest highlight being a Nashville Warbler in the southwest corner of the park, feeding in a fruiting strangler fig tree. Field marks included a white eye ring, yellow breast, white around the legs, and yellow undertail coverts. The head was a soft gray and the back was a soft brown. I also had a Summer Tanager in the same tree.

The orchid trees were in full bloom in the park and were full of hummingbirds -- 10 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. I checked for other hummingbird species but could not find any.

Other notable birds in the park included Eastern Phoebe, Blue-headed Vireo, Palm Warbler, and Northern Parula.

Elsewhere in the Kendale Lakes area, I had an eastern form (yellow) Palm Warbler behind the Target on 88th st near 152nd Ave, and an Orange-crowned Warbler in my neighborhood.

Seven warbler species in a couple blocks of suburban development isn't too bad for a couple hours birding!

Carlos
