I did not see or hear the La Sagra's Flycatcher this morning on the road that leads to Hidden Lake, but I had a lifer Florida Panther! It was 9:00am and four of us had just moved down this same road towards Gate 13. I looked to the right, saw the panther standing on the side of the road, quietly mentioned that a "cougar" (flashback from old GM car commercials) was on my right, and two out of three of the other birders got a look at the panther. Wow.
Earlier this morning, I did see the Short-eared Owl hunting over the fields near the end of Research Road.
