: Today at 6:30 pm saw no less than seven swallow-tailed kites soaring and playing at the intersecion of Sunset Drive and SW 67 ave in South Miami.

I go by there almost every night between 7-8pm. The kites are/were nesting nearby. At least a few of the birds are young, as they still tend to fly back to the nest tree and nest, and accept food from the parents. There are always several more in flight nearby, and this could be an amalgam of a couple of family groups. My highest count there is also 7.
In my humble opinion, our most attractive bird!
